Just see the photos to believe the place. In case the photos do not seem appealing to you, don’t worry and take my word, plan for a trip to this trip.

Keep the trip a very relaxed one and not in a hurry to see many places if you do not wish. The rainy weather of South India is not the recommended time to visit the place. It can get cold in mornings and at night so carry a warm cloth for protection.

Apart from that just appreciate the beautiful surroundings and you will feel relaxed.

First experience of Operation Theatre

An experience with the hospital is not a good sign of one’s health. Unfortunately I was in the hospital for the last weekend and to add to the misery had to be operated upon. That too on my right knee. Phew!

That was the first time I experienced the power of anesthesia engulfing my lower body to make it numb. It was also the first time when I could feel the operation theater light just getting blurry within a duration of minutes!

The problem had been diagnosed around an year back during my vacation to Southern most tip of India, Kanyakumari and the holy place for Hindus of Rameshwaram.

It is a sports injury caused by impact sports but the case with me was a little different as I don’t indulge in any impact sports but little active in cricket over the weekends. This could have been aggravated by my regular travel and treks over the past weekends.

The result of all this was a Grade I meniscule degradation. Generally the surgery happens only when the grade is II or beyond but since my injury had been lingering for a long time. The body was also not responding as expected to the medicines and exercises and hence the eventual resort of putting a microscope and seeing what the devil inside.

The operation happened on Friday July 17, 2009 after noon at 3:00 pm and I gained decent level of consciousness to see the time as 4:25 pm. Although the operation lasted for less than an hour.

Nisarga Dham

It was a journey to the serene and beautiful green region in Karnataka to the city of Coorg.

The groups of 11 friends were to travel and explore the culture rich city. The whole trip was over a weekend with a night stay in Coorg organized by a friend’s mother.

Journey started on Saturday early morning with a breakfast stop after 3 hours at Maddur. All the group members knew each other well, the whole journey was fun filled. The vehicle was a tempo traveler which accommodated all the travelers and luggage comfortably.

Day1:

Kushal nagar monasteryFirst stop of the journey was at a monastery located in Kushal Nagar. Inside the monastery were three huge and beautiful statues of Buddhist god. The entire area, people and their lifestyle was completely different in its outlook than surrounding areas and reminded me of monasteries and Pagodas found in Thailand, Myanmar. The monastery area was huge and it took us almost 2 hours to explore the entire area. A Tibetan market was adjacent this place for local made items.

We got some nice photos of the statues and the group. Walls of the building had beautiful paintings designed on them. A big bell at low level was installed for ringing it which made a really deep sound. At the exit of the monastery we had some tender coconut to quench our growing thirst.

Next destination was Nisarga Dham which has a river flowing through a forest reserve. It was a nice and peaceful area with raw natural beauty with little knowledge to tourists. It was also a good place to just sit and relax watching the Read more

Makedatu photos none

No Comments yet, your thoughts are welcome

My last post about the trip to Makedatu which also had the travelogue showcased 3 photos. That was the time when I had just got my camera and was the first outdoor test for my skills in handling the new system.

This resulted in many shaken, over/under exposed photos which were not worth photoshopping and spending time in recreating the landscape.

The 3 photos which were in the last place are the only one you will have to suffice with for the moment. When I will visit the place again in future, I will ensure to capture better photos to be shared amongst all of you

By that time I would have matured a little more in handling the camera and stabilized hands.
