Urban Stampede 2010 marathon results out

The results for Urban Stampede 2010 Bangalore marathon have been announced on their website.

I am pretty pleased with my time of 26 min 19 sec 900 millisecond for the run of 5km. The individual rank for me is 289 from around 1200 participants. A good beginning for the first time marathon runner. My team came 43rd which also is a nice accomplishment as there was one more team member participating for the first time.

Does it inspire to run again for a cause now or be a regular here? Only time will tell :)

First relay marathon run!

On august 8, 2010 I participated in the 5kmx4 people marathon held at Exotica Clarks resort on way to BIAL. It was a great moment to be participating in the event along with 1200 other runners. There were professionals and many first time runners like me.

Our allotted pit stop number was 186 under the mixed category with a female team member. The marathon was flagged off and I was the first runner setting the pace for my team. The timings chips are yet to give us the results but I think I covered the 5km distance is less than 30min.

I feel happy as it was a nonstop, no break run around the beautiful resort with clean air to breathe away from the city. My team was actually surprised to see me back at the pit. The next runner was the lady who also did a good timing. The last 2 folks had a tough time with the sun shining hard straight down on them. Cheers to their efforts! We managed to complete the 20km run in less than 2 hours and were glad about it.

It was a very well organized event with great spirit and enthusiasm shown by all the participants.

Wish fulfilled – Rain gods listened

No Comments yet, your thoughts are welcome

Rain gods have been very quick to listen to my requests of some showers to bring the mercury down.

It was just 2 days back that I posted an entry yearning for some drops from sky, and now I am joyous with the wishes getting fulfilled in just a day’s time.

The season received its first monsoon rains yesterday evening and a bit today morning. The temperatures have reduced drastically with a cool breeze around. The city looks clean now with a good wash up from top to bottom. The roads have regained the tar color and texture.

Welcome rains!

Wishing for monsoon drops

People looking forward to monsoons! Or is it me only?

Monsoon awaited with much hopes

The heat wave is persistent for a long time now, need to cool off with artificial means in a region which was considered naturally air conditioned. This is global warming at its peak?

Could be and I was looking for moist clouds to get condensed for a much needed respite. On this weekend, while strolling in one of the up town markets, I felt some drops falling from sky, giving a hint that ray of hope is on way.

Waiting to welcome the monsoons even after the problems I know. Humans are just amazing creatures :)

Fotoflock is a community website gaining traction in South east Asia and predominantly the Indian photographers.

They had called for photo submissions under the theme of "fotohagen" after the World Climate conference 2009 in Copenhagen. The following photo was submitted by me to showcase the changes in nature after human interference.

Let us all make this world a safe and better place for the future generations to come. Let them see nature and its beautiful environment, animals, creatures live rather than just reading about them in books.
