In one the recent technology summits by Adobe, I was lucky to share a frame with Dr John Warnock.
Dr John Warnock along with Chuck Geschke started Adobe in 1982.

John is an extra terrestrial human like creature living a nomadic life hiding his true identity. He is amongst a series of countable people alive from a different planet. They are being slowly killed one by one and he is the fourth in series. Unknown of the others, he is guarded by a person whom the world knows as his father. He is the guardian angel for John from the race trying to eliminate the existence of his species.

Running away to save himself and his race, he reaches the city of Ohio as a student in the college meeting up with a female photographer and grows close to her. He is always under strict observation in college with a “check” call every hour with absolute control to not expose his super powers. The city of Ohio turns into a battlefield where he is identified by the enemies.

A not so engaging experience with the fighting and super fast run chases. I felt the camera work could have been done better in cases where motion was involved as it resulted in strained eyes. The effects were good on occasions like the breathing through the alien like organs near nose for super senses. It ends unlike a melodramatic sequence where he takes off to a new destination with a newly found friend and number 6 in the series of race.

If you have some time at hand and have nothing to do, it is a good watch with not much thinking with high intensity. The camera work is nice with the landscape shots with vast expanse of green grasslands. At times there are interesting surprises around to add some spice to the movie and keep the audience engrossed.

It has been a wonderful wild year for me with experinces from Wild Africa to the majestic Indian tigers and the wonderful migratory birds in the Indian subcontinent. The elusive cat was seen after more than a decade. Looking forward to a wilder 2011 with more journey and greater photographic experiences to share with you all.

National gallery of modern art is a place where contemporary art forms are displayed. The art forms range from sculputres, canvas paintings, charcoal work on paper, photographs and alike.

NGMA opened in bangalore recently and I visited it to see the different art forms and also for inspiration for photographs which are seen as art form. Being a wildlife and nature photographer, I find it sometimes interesting to portray it as art rather than just fact.

Located on Palace road, next to India Oil petrol station(Mount Carmel college is another big landmark), it is beautifully constructed with a mix of ancient British architecture and modern landscaping. The well maintained green plush gardens with fountains make the whole campus teaming with inspirations for all art inspirers.

Meeting with the Director was also a good insight into the work done over the past 3 years to get it inaugurated only a few months back. A place recommended for all art lovers. The art is only for display under tight security for an entree fee of mere INR20(< 0.50USD). There are starting to gain momentum in their activities with cultural tours and insights behind the art work on regular days. Sessions and lecture series are also conducted by eminent artists from time to time.

Having visited Delhi NGMA also, I think the one in Bangalore has an edge :)

First relay marathon run!

On august 8, 2010 I participated in the 5kmx4 people marathon held at Exotica Clarks resort on way to BIAL. It was a great moment to be participating in the event along with 1200 other runners. There were professionals and many first time runners like me.

Our allotted pit stop number was 186 under the mixed category with a female team member. The marathon was flagged off and I was the first runner setting the pace for my team. The timings chips are yet to give us the results but I think I covered the 5km distance is less than 30min.

I feel happy as it was a nonstop, no break run around the beautiful resort with clean air to breathe away from the city. My team was actually surprised to see me back at the pit. The next runner was the lady who also did a good timing. The last 2 folks had a tough time with the sun shining hard straight down on them. Cheers to their efforts! We managed to complete the 20km run in less than 2 hours and were glad about it.

It was a very well organized event with great spirit and enthusiasm shown by all the participants.

The season received its first monsoon rains yesterday evening and a bit today morning. The temperatures have reduced drastically with a cool breeze around. The city looks clean now with a good wash up from top to bottom. The roads have regained the tar color and texture.
