The Forest department of Mysore is planning to add another 7 acres of islets surrounding the areas of Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary. It is expected to draw more birds in the migration season and provide bigger space for the birds to breed and stay longer. Maybe even make this place their home.
Some of the birds which are already breeding and staying here are Spoonbills, river tern, pelican and more. More details of this news can be found at this link.
