Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh is a hill station state in north India. It derives its name from Hindi language words; Him meaning the mighty Himalaya ranges and Aanchal meaning lap. Pradesh is a common term in Hindi script meaning region. So the region of this state lies in lap of Himalayan ranges.

A beautiful state where I had the opportunity to visit many known and unknown destinations which are a delight to relax and enjoy some days. There are few hot tourist destinations like Simla, Kullu and Manali, popular as a honeymoon destination. The winter season from Nov to March is bitter cold in some regions with temperatures below freezing point. The panoramic view of valley and the surrounding mountain ranges are a view to die for.

The road trip to Leh and Ladakh has to be undertaken via this state and is a dream for any bike enthusiast. The Spiti valley is also a journey of lifetime. From isolated nestled resorts to hustle bustle of tourist destinations, this state has something for everyone. A paradise for trekkers accomplishing various summits. A bio reserve for study for botanists in “Valley of Flowers” to the pilgrims of Gaumukh, Badrinath and Kedarnath, you are bound to have a good time.
